Protection from Corona: Experience is not always an advantage with the immune system

Why the SARS-CoV2 vaccination works poorly, especially in older people, is unclear. A research team of the Institute of Immunology and the Cluster of Excellence PMI shows: A good vaccination response relies on naive immune cells, pre-existing memory cells are rather detrimental.
