ERC Advanced Grant for Alexander Scheffold for work on regulatory T cells

This prestigious European Research Council grant supports his research on human regulatory T cells with 2.5 Million €. The project “RespecTreg” (Resolve human autoantigen-specific regulatory T cell responses) shall identify fundamental principles how regulatory T cells protect the body from self-attack by the immune system and provide a basis for novel and selective options to prevent or treat autoimmune disease and chronic inflammation.
